Ready to hang.

Below - the "Rose" cutout painting hanging on a "stucco" exterior wall in direct sunlight.
The above photo shows an edge view of the painting. There are two main parts to the piece.
1-The rose blossom area is shaped plywood that has been painted using artist oil paint that has been applied in the traditional manner using artist brushes. The rose blossom is primarily alizarin crimson in color.
2- The gold-colored frame is made of plywood that is approximately ¼ in thick. A raised edge was created using synthetic-wood materials. The frame has been painted using spray enamel.
The entire piece has been coated with a gloss clear-coat.
The photo above shows the painting and frame from the back. The photo shows the artist's signature and the "picture-wire" that is used to hang the piece in the traditional manner.
The photo below shows a close-up of the back that more clearly shows the metal support structure, the signature and the mounting hardware that attaches the frame and flower blossom. This photo also shows two pieces of "picture wire" so that the owner can choose to hang the image in either "portrait" or "landscape" orientation.

The process for making the cutout painting:
A 1/2" thick piece of high quality plywood was shaped into a 17.5" x 20.5" outline of a rose blossom. The plywood cutout was sealed, coated with primer and sanded for a smooth surface. The back side of the plywood has been braced with metal to prevent warping. Picture hanging wire has been added so that the artwork is ready to hang.
The artwork has been signed in two places. One signature is visible from the front but is not easy to spot so that it doesn't interfere with the art. The other signature is on the back.
